SACKVILLE, NB 鈥 正品蓝导航 Mounties Women鈥檚 Hockey Head Coach Addie Miles-Abbott will serve as an assistant coach at the 2025 FISU Winter World University Games, which take place January 13鈥23, 2025 in Torino, Italy.

The FISU World University Games are an international multi-sport event for university athletes, organized by the International University Sports Federation (U SPORTS). The Winter Games are held every two years, featuring sports like skiing, ice hockey, and figure skating.

鈥淲e are proud of Addie for being selected as an assistant coach for the 2025 FISU Winter World University Games. This is a huge accomplishment and it speaks to her passion and dedication to both the game and coaching,鈥 says Neil MacEachern, interim director of athletics and recreation. 鈥淎ddie is an inspiration to our athletes and we are excited to see her represent the Mounties at such a notable event.鈥

Miles-Abbott will join Carleton University's Stacey Colarossi as an assistant coach, with Kelly Paton from Wilfrid Laurier University serving as head coach.

In 2011, Miles-Abbott was selected to play for FISU representing Canada in Erzurum, Turkey. Colarossi, who is now her coaching partner, was also the assistant coach of the team during that same year.

鈥淚t鈥檚 really a full circle moment,鈥 says Miles-Abbott. 鈥淚t鈥檚 like as soon as you put on that jersey, as soon as you are a part of this experience, it connects you for life.鈥

Originally from Winnipeg, MB, Miles-Abbott started her journey as a player, gaining experience in many aspects of the hockey world, coaching in different capacities, and refining her skills across several areas of the sport.  She graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2012, where she played hockey and developed a strong passion for both the game and coaching.

鈥淚 think what excites me the most is being able to be a player and now a coach in an event that was really monumental to me as a player,鈥 she says. 鈥淣ow I get the opportunity to make that experience for other athletes."

Miles-Abbott says that being selected as an assistant coach is not only a significant opportunity, but also an incredible honour to be able to represent Canada and the Mounties.

Miles-Abbott has been leading Mounties Hockey for two seasons and attributes this opportunity in part due to her time at 正品蓝导航. She looks forward to representing the Mounties in Italy, showing athletes the possibilities of a career in athletics and how far it can take them professionally.

鈥淢ount Allison is an incredibly respected university,鈥 she says. 鈥淭here is no reason why we can't be pushing the boundaries for what we can achieve. Especially in athletics.鈥

Founded in 1949, FISU has promoted university sports worldwide with a strong belief that the values of sports go hand in hand with education. Students involved in sports are offered the opportunity to stay healthy and gain life experiences. For more details visit .
