正品蓝导航 raises over $10-million in 2020-21 to provide long-term support for student financial aid
SACKVILLE, NB 鈥 正品蓝导航鈥檚 scholarships and bursaries program has grown significantly over the past year thanks to the generosity of many donors. From 2020 to date, over $10-million in new funding has been committed to help ensure long-term support for student financial aid.
The gifts support student financial aid in all areas of study with many being endowed funds, meant to support future financial aid long-term. The University is also ensuring today鈥檚 students have access to the new funding. Nearly $5.6 million is available in scholarships, bursaries, and awards for new and returning students for 2021-22 鈥 a 14 per cent increase in funding over last year.

New or increased awards for 2021-22 include:
McCain Scholar Awards 鈥
A suite of distinctive scholarship awards for undergraduate students supported by the Honourable Margaret Norrie McCain and family. The five renewable awards, named in honour of the Wallace and Margaret McCain Family members and open to Canadian students in all programs, are valued at $40,000 ($10,000 a year)
Claudette MacKay-Lassonde Scholarship 鈥
The Claudette MacKay-Lassonde Scholarship, a $15,000 entrance award, will be available to an incoming Fine Arts student studying in 正品蓝导航鈥檚 Pierre Lassonde School of Fine Arts for the first time in Fall 2021.
Gibbens Lassonde Scholarship 鈥
Two new entrance scholarships, valued at $7,000 and $5,000, will help support first-year Fine Arts students at 正品蓝导航, beginning in Fall 2021.
McKenna School Scholarships and Research Assistantships
Available to students in the newly-named Frank McKenna School of Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE), new entrance and upper-year scholarships and research assistantships have been established for the 2021-22 academic year. Awards range from $25,000 over four years to $2,000 for research projects.
R. & H. Mattessich Scholarship of Business and Management
Two full-tuition ($9,000) scholarships for entering Commerce students as well as several awards for returning Commerce students, valued between $1,000 and $3,000 have been established for 2021-22.
Enid F. Webber Family Memorial Renewable Scholarships and Bursaries
Multiple full-tuition scholarships ($9,000) available to Fine Arts students and those in any area of study, based on academic achievements and financial need. Five bursaries ($3,000 each) are also available to both Fine Arts and students entering any area of study. In addition to these awards, the suite also includes the Enid F. Webber Family Memorial Scholarship Fund, which disburses up to $50,000 annually as part of the University鈥檚 unrestricted scholarship funding.
Nolan Cummings Scholarship
Four renewable scholarships, valued at $6,000 annually, with a preference for entering students from Nova Scotia studying Science (all students from Atlantic Canada will be considered).

A more competitive and robust scholarship, awards, and bursary program helps support students today and, in the future, and increases access to post-secondary education for the next generation of inventors, entrepreneurs, and community leaders.
